New Scrapping Blog

I started a new blog and would love to have you visit!  I got away from trying to sell via Zazzle for a while...I'm hope that the products will improve in quality.  It's very important that when something is sold to you, or anyone, that it is quality and up to standards.  I've been a bit disappointed in the past and was so incredible hopeful...anyway...I'm sure things will get better.

I work, outside the home now.  So my time with my blogs have been cut back.  With that said, I've been exploring the world of Scrapping and I'm enjoying it so very much.  Please take a moment to stop by and leave a comment or "follow" along as I create!

Thank you for looking and taking the time with me!

God Bless!!

Guard your Lips?

He who guards his lips guards his life, but he who speaks rashly will come to ruin.
Proverbs 13: 3

Do you believe that proverb?

Have you ever seen the results of a harshly spoken word?

Perhaps you've been on the receiving side of a hurtful comment, bitter gossip, or cross words. Or maybe you were the one who spoke the words that couldn't be retrieved. That crossed the line of bitterness into a world of destruction and pain for someone you cared about.

If you're like me you've been both the receiver and unfortunately, in my earlier days, the deliverer of comments, harsh truths, and hurtfulness. Often times, I thought my words were spoken in honesty, frankness, and truth, and although that may be true, as I look back I realize that I should have tempered much of what I said through God's heart and love.

I remember reading in scripture the words that Christ spoke. At times, when He dealt with the Sadducees and Pharisees...He was more than frank, He was trying to wake them up...make them realize their need for salvation and the distortion of their religious ways.

There are times when we need to "shake" people out of their stupor...but it should always be done in the light of God's love and grace.

As my Mom used to say..."tick a lock"...if you have any question in your mind whether you should or should not say a certain thing. It's important to keep others hearts and hurts in mind.

God gives us these warnings for a reason; and when you look back at your own life you'll realize the need to hear and obey His instructions and warnings. Pray for guidance as you deal with others...and seek discernment as you share.

God bless you and "tick a lock" :)

Blessings and warmth,

Blessings Everyone!

We all have them...from the wonderful gifts of family and friends to the peaceful quiet solitude of a graceful sunrise. It's wonderful really...

I was talking to my husband this morning and I asked him if he was happy...His response was..."Yes, darlin' wonderfully happy." Then he said, "Which begs the question...are you?"

Well, I knew that was coming, we've been married many years now. Long enough to almost anticipate what one another is going to say.
I had to think for a moment...not because I wasn't happy, but because there is so much going on in our lives right now. Funds are short...my daughter and her husband moved, so I don't get to be with them as often as I like, our business recently failed, my wonderful family; siblings, Mom, and nieces and nephews are all living across the country from me.

Yet, amidst it all, my relationship with the Lord has become stronger and because of that relationship...I do have peace, joy, and contentment. There is no other reason for my sense of peace during this time of turmoil. So Lord...I thank you!

I'm so thankful to be able to sit in front of my computer and post this message. I don't know where you are in your faith or if you have any at all...but my challenge to you is that if you have not sought the blessings of your Lord and Savior, now may be the time.

If it is peace amidst the storm that you seek...then find a quiet moment to sit and be embraced by your King.

"come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." (Hebrews 4:16)

Thanks for stopping by everyone! Have a blessed day in the Lord!

The Guest Room

I was cleaning up the Guest Room the other day. My Daughter and Grand-daughter came to visit for a couple of days. Her husband was able to join us on Saturday for pot roast before the 3 1/2 hour drive back to Alabama where they recently moved.

As I was freshening up the linens and putting things away; I couldn't help but think that some of my favorite people come and stay in this room. It suddenly became a place of great joy and comfort as I remembered the faces and laughter that was brought into the home when our family, friends, and guests come to stay.

God is good isn't He?

It reminds me of a story my Mother used to tell about the guests that had come to the home of a poor woman. She had been told in a dream that the Lord would visit her on this night. She waited patiently for His arrival only to be greeted with several unexpected guests throughout the night. She had little to offer as they came one by one seeking shelter, warmth, food, and clothing. She gave all she had and had no more to give.

As the evening grew to a close and she sat at the table with her head bowed low...tears silently slipping down her cheeks, she said, "Lord, I thought you were to come to me tonight..." Disappointed she blew out the candle and went to bed.

She was greeted, yet again, in a dream by the Lord who told her that He was each of the visitors that came to her that night and that she clothed, fed, and warmed Him throughout the evening. He went on to say that she had brought Him great joy and comfort in all that she did and He would never forget that special night with her.

I miss my daughter and her family very much...but I appreciate more than you can imagine the gift they bring to me when they come. The gifts of joy, laughter, and love.

How blessed I am and how I appreciate all that He gives.

Blessings my friends,

Abide In Me...

I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. John 12:46

Not that long ago, I realized that I wasn't where I wanted to be in my relationship with the Lord. I had let the worries and concerns of this world stifle my "closeness" with the Savior.

I got up one morning to feed my pups and stood on the patio waiting for them to come back in. I looked up and said, "Good morning Father...I love you...thank you for all you given me. Draw me closer to you."

I came inside and couldn't help but recall the verse above. I took my Bible and prayed that I would ABIDE in Him, and draw close to Him. I asked that He would send His Holy Spirit, that I might know Him better, that His Word would speak to my heart.

I read His Word with new awareness and closeness. I felt His Spirit fall upon me, almost as if being caressed. It was like a spiritual "hug" from my heavenly Father...I felt like crying because I knew it was Him.

I have continued to pray that I would Abide in Him. It has changed my walk, my Spiritual eyes, and my awareness of His power, and presence.

May your life be filled with His presence and love for now and always...In Him...

It Hard to Believe but Christmas...

...is next week! I've got so much to do! It's an incredible time of the year. I've found that as I've gotten older it's a bit harder to find the Christmas Spirit of days gone by.

Don't misunderstand, as I read the story of my Savior's birth, and His coming, my heart and eyes mist over with tears of thankfulness and joy. It's then that the true Spirit of Christmas touches my heart and warms my memories.

I now have grandchildren. Two beautiful girls...Eowynn Elle...and ...Kiani Jade...they are, without a doubt, my most precious delights of life. I'm blessed to watch them grow, learn, change, and warm the hearts of their parents. I think it gives me as much joy to see the kids with their kids, as it did to be with my own. Thank you Lord.

You may wonder what this has to do with Christmas...well...if I received nothing else but the health, happiness, and peace of my children's families...my earthly gift would be complete.

My gift from my Father was given long ago and is a Living Gift that keeps on giving. Thank you Father for your precious Son. May this be a time of great revival that all who seek Him my experience the joy of our Savior.

God bless you all!

In Him,

I found this fascinating quote today:

The Word of God is so important in our lives. Without it we are without direction. Without it we are powerless. But when we faithfully read the Word and heed it, we have our lives mapped out for us, we know which road to take and we have a wonderful promise: "And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left." Isaiah 30:21. Directions for life. It's comforting to have them at your fingertips. Another promise from the Lord is that He will never leave us. (Hebrews 13:5) So, we not only have access to the directions we need to live by, we have the Guide to walk us through. What more can we ask? Our destination is assured. Let's follow in His footsteps.DIANE STEPHENSON, MY HEALTHY LIVING BLOG, Dec 2009
